🎓MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, Saint Mary's University
My approach to therapy is highly relational and systemic, whether working with individuals, couples, families, or other constellations of connected people. No one can be sufficiently understood without considering the people and relationships that make us who we are, our communities, and the broader systems that impact us historically and presently. Therapy is an art, a creative and collaborative process informed by some science and theory. In addition to systems theory, my work is influenced by experiential, narrative, and attachment theories.
The best part of my job is building authentic relationships with my clients. I show up as my genuine self in the therapy room; laid back, conversational, and curious. I hope to co-create a space that feels safe and supportive to experience the mess and beauty of being fully human, especially when it includes uncomfortable emotions like anxiety and shame. I’m a solid hype woman who provides validation, affirmation, and encouragement. I will also gently challenge beliefs and thoughts from time to time, which is to say, “I will kindly call BS.”
I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ folks and people who live outside of traditional societal norms for sexual and romantic relationships. My main areas of interest are complex/developmental trauma, grief and loss, and all things related to gender and sexuality. I am affirming of kink, ENM, and polyamory, body-neutral/HAES, and sex-worker allied.
I’m currently practicing under the supervision of Jessi Leader, LMFT, as I work toward licensure as a post-graduate therapist.
